We at Cultivating Minds UK believe that any form of prevention work begins in a community.

Imagine a community with the skills to notice a situation.

Imagine a community who develop a sense of responsibility to better look out for each other.

Imagine a community with the tools to act.

We know from past research that 3rd parties witness harmful incidents. Our use of the bystander approach simply suggests “It’s what you do with what you notice”. We at Cultivating Minds UK firmly believe in the power of community and simply aim to equip them to both notice and act when situations arise.

Over the past 6 years we have worked with thousands of people from communities across the UK developing their skills as active bystanders to address issues such as domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime and anti-social behaviour.

Working with local authorities, policing and those supporting the night-time economy we have developed trainings that help people to notice harmful incidents, and to take responsibility to intervene.

Our highly interactive and realistic trainings don’t just focus on providing tools to act, we focus on using the psychology of inaction to help people overcome the challenges we all face in these situations. Human beings often struggle to do the right thing. The good thing is that evidence informs us how to change this for the better.
